Turn Recordings into a Searchable Knowledge Base
A knowledge base generator that starts from what people actually said in a meeting, a training, or a walkthrough, not a blank page. Upload a file, paste a link, or record one directly, and it comes back with a transcript and AI notes, filed in a library you and your team can search and ask questions of later.
That is different from a help center builder like Zendesk or Helpjuice, where you write and organize the articles yourself. Here, the library is built from your recordings: one AI chat that searches and answers from every recording in your library, or a single folder.
You write the articles
Zendesk or Helpjuice give you a public help center, and you write and organize every article yourself.
Your recordings become the library
Meetings, trainings and walkthroughs become a private, searchable library you can ask questions of.
Transcripts with speakers
With timestamps, in 100+ languages.
AI notes
A summary, the main points and action items with an owner and deadline, and decisions listed separately.
Search and ask
search across recordings by name or transcript, plus one AI chat that searches and answers from every recording in your library, or a single folder.
Share with your team
team workspaces and share links. Free plan: 2 transcriptions of recordings up to 45 minutes each.
How to Build a Knowledge Base from Recordings
- Add the recordings: Upload video or audio files, paste a link, or record trainings and walkthroughs directly. Each one becomes a separate entry in your library.
- Let it process: The transcript, speaker labels and AI notes are ready a few minutes after upload. Search by name or by what was said, in any recording.
- Ask, share and export: Ask the AI chat a question across every recording in the library, or scope it to one folder. Share the library with your team, and download AI notes and documents as PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Markdown or plain text.
Accuracy depends on the audio: a clear voice close to the microphone transcribes well, while background noise or several people talking over each other leaves gaps. See how we measure accuracy.
Build a library people actually use
One topic per recording
Short, focused recordings are easier to find.
Name them clearly
Use the words people will search for.
Group them in folders
Then ask the AI chat across one folder.
Speak clearly and close to the microphone. Search and answers are only as good as the transcript.
What It Can and Cannot Do
Good at
- A searchable library built from recordings
- AI answers across every recording or one folder
- Transcripts and AI notes on every entry
- Sharing with your team
Not built for
- A public help center: it is a private library
- Auto-categorization: you organize folders yourself
- Native Slack, Docs or Notion connectors: not offered
- Writing polished articles: the notes are source material
Knowledge Base Generator vs Other Apps
ScreenApp’s library is built from recordings you add yourself. It does not publish a public help center, and it has no automatic categorization or duplicate detection: you organize recordings into folders, and search and the AI chat do the finding for you.

| Search and AI chat across content | one AI chat that searches and answers from every recording in your library, or a single folder | Not stated | Instant answers within help center search | Not stated |
| Native Slack, Docs or Notion connectors | Not offered (works with Zapier, Slack and Notion through the API) | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated |

- vs Notion: Notion is a wiki and workspace. Publishing a page to the web is on its Free plan (publish a page to the web), and its AI meeting notes feature needs Business and Enterprise plans. It is built for writing pages, not for turning a library of recordings into a searchable archive.
- vs Zendesk: Zendesk’s Knowledge product is built for a public-facing customer help center: it recommends an article structure and flags outdated or duplicate content with AI copilot, starting at $55 a month per agent, billed annually. ScreenApp does not publish a help center at all; it is a library for your own recordings.
- vs Helpjuice: Helpjuice is a dedicated help center tool with an AI Writer that drafts articles from a prompt, from $249 a month. It is not built to take a recording and generate the article from what was said in it.
Who Builds a Knowledge Base This Way
Customer support teams
Record how a fix works and use the notes as source material for an article.
Operations and HR
Let new hires search policy and onboarding sessions instead of asking a teammate.
Training teams
Record a session once and let people search it instead of re-running it.
Product and engineering
Find which meeting covered a feature or an incident.
Startups and small teams
Build a searchable record of how things are done, from meetings already happening.
