Rename transcript speakers

Replace generic speaker labels and check speaker attribution against the recording.

  1. Open the recording’s transcript.
  2. Select the speaker label you want to change.
  3. Enter or choose the correct name using the speaker control.
  4. Save, then check other passages assigned to that speaker.

A name change applies to that speaker label; it does not establish that every segment assigned to the label belongs to the same person. Listen around speaker changes and overlapping speech before relying on attribution.

People and speaker recognition

The current app has a People section in Settings for speaker names used by speaker identification. Keep those names distinct from edits to the words in a transcript.

Wrong words or merged speakers

Correct words through transcript editing. If speakers remain mixed together, preserve the original and describe the problem to support with timestamps. Do not use a guessed name to hide uncertain attribution.

Export a new transcript after changes if you need an updated local copy.
